- Eric hiding in my fav AK outdoor sculpture.
- Eric chillin’ on a couch crypt.
- John, Alicia and Eric modeling Maid of the Mist fashion.
I went on a mini road trip to my hometown and invited one of my bestest friends Eric to come along. He has a background in architecture and is always up for adventure, so I thought he’d appreciate Buffalo. Having limited time, I took him on an accelerated tour. We…
- ate wings at Duff’s
- shared six donuts at Paula’s (that’s right six — oink oink! best donuts ever and worth the calories)
- took the in-depth tour of Frank Lloyd Wright’s Martin House Complex
- met WBNY friends for dinner
- visited Albright-Knox Art Gallery (one of my fav places to go) and Burchfield Penney Art Center (the Douglas Kirkland: Marilyn photography exhibit was good)
- walked around Delaware Park (take that donuts!)
- explored Forest Lawn Cemetery (Eric was obsessed with the couch crypts; coolest monument I saw was the Blocher Memorial)
- drove around downtown to try to see some of the architectural gems, but unfortunately came across many road blocks due to Taste of Buffalo
- went on a drive-by to West Seneca thanks to my GPS screwing up Shea’s theater location
- visited the Falls with Alicia and John
- rode the Maid of the Mist
- rode the Niagara SkyWheel
- hit up Rumours Night Club as a joke to show Eric where we all went waaaaay back in the day (the sign said they open at 8 p.m., so we went to go inside for quick drinks, but the door was locked and the guy inside was a total jerk and ignored us — when we did get his attention he claimed they open at 8:30 p.m., so we left — their loss)
- stopped inside the casinos on both the American and Canadian sides (Eric, Alicia and John each won at different games within five minutes of being in the casino on the American side!)
- attended family party
All this in three days!!!
