A Night at the Ballet

Me and my bud Eric dressed up in style.

When I was little I took ballet classes and saw The Nutcracker at Shea’s Performing Arts Center. I have always loved the performing arts and was excited to hear that The National Ballet of Canada was coming to the Kennedy Center to perform Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Oddly, I had never been to the Kennedy Center for an event. Based on the description of the ballet it sounded like a cool production, so my friend Eric and I bought tickets and got all dressed up for fun. The costumes were very colorful (my favorite was the Queen of Hearts) and the set designs were wild and interactive. A few of the scenes included tap routines, which was a nice surprise (especially since I had retired from ballet after three short years to take tap lessons 🙂 ). I tried to inconspicuously take a photo during one of the scenes without my flash to share on my blog, but I was busted by an usher. Those people are hard core!
